About Us
Who We Are
See You See Me is a creative studio run by a husband and wife duo. Shermaine Cheong is the artist behind all the drawings and paintings, while her husband, Kenny Lim, steers the studio’s creative writing and manages the business and logistics. The art and products are the duo’s ideas and an expression of what they love about art, design, music, travel, and more.
Based in Singapore, a tiny tropical country mainly defined by structured cityscapes, without shifting seasons, nor expansive natural landscapes, Shermaine’s work though is free from the constraints of their immediate urban surroundings. Her drawings and paintings are deeply inspired by the places the couple have traveled to and places they dream of living in. Proving that creativity and imagination are never just defined by where you live, but by the worlds you choose to build.
The Art & the Inspiration
The daily rhythm of the studio revolves around the pages of a sketchbook — a space for spontaneous loose strokes, exploring textures, and the curation of color palettes — a drawing process that is entirely intuitive. Working primarily with pastels and colored pencils, Shermaine allows her drawings and paintings to remain raw, expressing each artwork in its own imperfect way with an inimitable charm. To continue to grow as an artist, she constantly reminds herself to bring a childlike approach to her work — and to always draw freely. Certain pieces have been hand-painted onto ceramic pieces, turning functional objects into tangible stories. Because these collections require an intricate process to produce, they are released only in sporadic, limited drops.
The Community
What began in a small studio continues to grow and evolve, with Shermaine’s art reaching an international audience, partnering with like-minded small business owners, and select stockists in the U.K., Europe, and Asia. The duo is deeply thankful for this international community and their trust, that allows their art to cross borders from this side of the globe.
